But for a quick synopsis of who I am, this is what the back cover could be if a book was written about me: 😀
Jacquie’s journey from a small town in Zimbabwe to becoming a seasoned leader in Governance, Continuity, and Crisis Management is a story of resilience, curiosity, and an unwavering commitment to excellence. Growing up as the second of five children in a family where education was deeply valued, Jacquie was drawn to understanding how things worked. She spent hours collecting various types of bearings—roller, ball, and needle bearings—observing her father’s maintenance work on the family car, and even dismantling her mother’s sewing machine, sparking an early fascination with engineering.
A skilled problem solver, Jacquie excelled in mathematics and thrived in complex physics challenges, eventually earning a degree in Mechanical Engineering in a predominantly male class. With over 20 years of experience across heavy manufacturing, power generation, oil and gas, water treatment, and Big Four consulting, Jacquie’s career reflects both depth and versatility. Her roles at Deloitte, Hatch, and Wood provided her with unique insights into the intricate operations of asset-intensive organizations and industry-leading companies.
As a dedicated STEM advocate, Jacquie combines her creative-analytical mindset with a grounded calm and steady nature. Her forward-thinking approach in governance and crisis management helps organizations establish resilient frameworks, creating an impact that is both immediate and enduring. Embracing “existential flexibility,” a concept by Simon Sinek, Jacquie continuously evolves, driven by her desire to leave a legacy in her field and beyond.
Blueprints of Resilience offers practical insights and inspiring reflections for professionals, leaders, and visionaries who are striving to make a meaningful impact.
